Today we did a shoot relating to one of the photographers we were told about. I chose the image at the bottom to work from, and shot a couple of similar images to relate to it. I directed the model to look to the side because that's what Anton Corbijn must have done, the right angle is key, the bricked wall is a very good addition to the image, because it gives a lot of texture to the picture and givcs more of an effect.

Anton Corbijn is from Holland, and was born in 1955 and started shooting at live gigs in 1972. His strong points are using a shallow depth of focus and aperature. Anton moved to London to carry on his career in photography and became very successful. He has shot The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, The Killers, The Bee Gees and many more! He also did filmography for various music video's and films. The two images are very simialar in terms of visuality. The top image (mine) I edited to look as dark and gloomy as the photographers work, which made it easy because it was just a black and white tone, adding a strong contrast and darkening the photo a bit.
