Project 5 - Still Life (3D)

When we went to the beach to do a shoot, we made a statue of a person, we found a bit of pole and put it around the back, to make them as arms and found two different pairs of shoes, a glove and a hat. This was to complete the 3D side of the project. We had the idea of building this sculpture for the 3D part because we thought it was relevant to the project, by using rubbish and rope as parts of the body to symbolise animals or people eating rubbish, like the sculpture below. We used rope and a plastic pole and straw like rope, we just wrapped them around each other and tied them together. It took us a while to figure out how to make the sculpture but then we found all of the rubbish and waste on the beach and thought it would be perfect to use.

This photo was taken by Jaymi Heimbuch in 2010.

This article relates very well to this project. Because I'm working around plastic pollution, I thought it was good for research. And it helped with the idea for the statue we made at the beach for 3D.
