I have been looking at magazine covers as an idea for my final piece for final major project. To create a piece that would be suitable for a front cover of a magazine such as vogue or vanity fair. I have been looking at mostly outdoor photography for the magazine cover, because I feel it's more natural and I think natural lighting shows a better character in the model than being in a studio and it gives off a sophisticated appearance. I like how the model Is looking straight on at the camera but isn't looking straight on, it makes her look prominent and eye-catching. I like how the shadows on her face contrast with each other. I like how the people who create the magazine linked the colours together by matching the colour of her clothes with the writing on the front cover. It makes the writing stand out a bit more so your attention isn't all on the model. I like how they have used different fonts and sizes for the writing on the front cover. They have also used to different colours, yellow and white.

I feel like I wont need stylists for my shoot I am going to do because I have in my head an idea I want to achieve for this shoot.
I am going to locate this shoot on The Hoe in Plymouth. There are a lot of areas around I can take really nice pictures with suitable backgrounds with perfect natural lighting. I have ideas maybe to sit the model on a bench to get some images, but mostly portraits like this one, just under the shoulders so the face doesn't empower the image too much. I think this shoot will end up having some images in which I will consider to use for my final piece.
